We'll be providing media coverage for the Going Green Film Fest out in Los Angeles, CA (Jan 2010) and wanted to pass along the information if any REDusers would like to enter. The submission guidelines are pretty WIDE open, and some of you may already have a film in the can to submit.
The three main categories are as follows:
1) GREEN PRODUCTION, where a film’s production worked to lessen the carbon footprint left on the planet (with sufficient documentation of this process); Film can be ANY Genre.
2) OUR PLANET, where the film’s topic covers third world issues, ecology, nature or the environment.
3) HYBRID/ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION, where the film features a hybrid vehicle, bicycle, electric scooter or public transportation. Film can be ANY Genre.
Films must be between 20 and 120 minutes in length and have been completed between 2008 and 2010.
Prizes include a one-year hybrid vehicle lease, hybrid electric bicycles, a meeting with CAA or William Morris agents, Movie Magic Screenplay Studio, and of course... press and media coverage. ALL selected films/filmmakers will receive free passed to the festival, parties and opening/closing ceremonies. All selected films will also be featured in the festival program. More information can be found at the Going GREEN Film Fest site: http://www.goinggreenfilmfestival.com/ and they can also be followed on twitter @goinggreenfest (http://twitter.com/goinggreenfest)
As a charitable fundraiser, the Going Green Film Festival also raises funds for the Minorities in Broadcast Training Program (MIBTP), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization formed in 1992 to provide training opportunities to college graduates in TV/radio news reporting, news management and film/TV production.
A great film fest for a great cause... should see a variety of submissions from all across the industry, from 5D's to RED ONE's and everything in between =)
