every trade show I get a real thrill finding the "hidden gems" - small companies with bad ass stuff that impresses me -

Keep your eye on these guys:

MARVIN - www.marvintech.com - automated R3D data management, dailies, etc.

KeyframeConcept.com - iPhone app for slating and sync-ing R3D data - and a little birdy told me these guys might just be writing the iPhone app for the AJA KiPro ... the iPhone app for RED should be available in a few weeks ...

Yea, Marvin...what a concept! looks totally BAD A**...but I think it runs on .....ermm...windows...sure hope not..needs to be linux or something REALLY stable!

They say it runs on the "Marvin System" so probably going to be built on Linux...at least lets hope so!

From speaking to Maarten, as I understand it the system is running Linux. The control is through a browser interface in Firefox, which at IBC he is running on a PC laptop. But it could run on anything else.
