View Full Version : Another Camera I can use for now
Hi everyone! I hope someone can help me on this board. I actually called RED today but the camera will not be ready when I plan to shoot my short film. If anyone knows of an alternative camera I could use for now. I am looking for a High End Digital Camera for low to reasonable costs. I will be shooting on a Friday to Saturday, for two days, and looking for a good deal. I would appreciate your opinions, the only other cameras I came across were the Genesis and D20.

Those are good. Also Dalsa. And Phantom for high speed.
If you want lower cost, take a look at the Silicon Imaging camera. Still pretty good!

Andromeda is great if you can find an owner operator in your area that is skilled at shooting with Linear LUTs...

Good clips, but the camera can put out much better quality footage, I my self was thinking about it, for now I continue to play with my XH-A1/m2/ZEISS ZF then will see at the very last moment what I end up shooting this first film with.
Hey Matt I notice you have the same reservation # of Bruce for your RED.
(It is okay guys, when my cameras arrive I will probably call you any ways to test them out with different lenses and settings, if you accept the invitation)

I would definitely accept that invitation Ketch.
Have you got a mattebox/ff yet for your set up?

Then all we need now is the RED's.
Yes Matt I purchased the production package from Redrock that includes rail system, adaptor, FF, Nikon and EOS mounts, the matte box I have is the Cavision two stages with side wings, I'm in list for the Redrock swing away Matted Box.
