I mentioned this some time ago but got no response. The Red format chart says :

When recording in Raw, wether 4k or 2k, you have no HD-SDI output !?!

Is that correct ? I hope not !

What about HDMI ? Why is HDMI out limited to 720p ?

It would be really nice to have 1080p from the HDMI outputs
= a cheap way to capture full HD

Cheers,
Damien

No, All the outputs are live. Also in 4k and 2k.
What the chart says is that you cannot get 4k out the Master HDSDI, as that is impossible.
The Master HDSDI supports max 1080p 4:4:4 at 30p, and not 4k or, 2k RAW.

Thank you for clarifying Anders,

I thought HD-SDI meant HD over SDI, it never occured to me you could do 4k or 2k raw output over SDI.

I would say the chart is not very clear.

Now to my second question, to Red, would it be possible, maybe through a later firmware update, to have 1080p over HDMI ? You can answer once you've shipped the first 50 cameras and taken a well deserved rest, although maybe by then we will have met at IBC.

Cheers,
Damien
