I doubt a working prototype of the 617 exists yet.
As far as it being usable for commercial use...that really is the wrong question to ask.
On the one hand, it is either unrealistic to use in some situations, OR, its the ONLY tool that can get certain jobs done.

The 617 doesn't exist yet...
Usable for commercial work? Hell yeah! You just have to think big.

I'm planning on using it to make 6 foot prints :)

I want to see the face of the focus puller who works with it on a long lens shot.

I'm already doing that with 24mp's 6k x 4k printed at 6' x 4' @ 240dpi.
You might think of the 617 much more likely to print 60' x 40' with fantastic results @ 101dpi usually large commercial prints for any type of wall print and billboards will start @ less then 100dpi.
The Epic 617 @ 28K with 216mp is something ridiculous to work with but if we can, then it will be just absurdly beautiful media to work with, just imagine a full body photo quality portrait for a swim suit add refacing a 100' tall building!! Not the usual pixelated bill boards and extra large posters you see now.

ya I can't wait to see some really large prints from it
right now I'm printing that big shooting with a 4x10 view camera and drum scanning at 1.2gb in 16bit.
Hows the place coming together in Vegas?

Then all of a sudden... SHE MOVES!
Provided someone payed for such a screen. :)
