I'm DPing a short film next month and I'm trying to help the first time director find production insurance. Can anyone here recommend who to talk to? It's a 7 day shoot, about $50,000 in gear, about 15 participants, no stunts, guns or cars.

Thanks! :)

Google is yer buddy if your agent doesn't have a referral.

I have indeed googled and have names to investigate if no one here has any suggestions, I just would prefer to contact someplace that has a good reputation with users from this community. However if such a place doesn't exist, then yes, I'll just call the places google gave me.

You'll wanna compair rates anyway. It's the logical place to begin.

Try Kat Wong at Heffernan Insurance Brokers. They specialize in production equipment.

Several redusers are insured there.
