Hi Jim,

I'm as anxious as everyone else here to purchase a Scarlet package, but have a quick question: What metal will the lens mount be made from? Since it is user interchangable (I assume it is field switchable with the other available mounts) how do we assure flange distance & backfocus? Or is it not really field switchable and we should put it up on a bench somewhere after changing the mounts? I'm a little concerned about a soft metal mount such as aluminum etc.

Is there any provision to adjust backfocus similar to an ENG style camera/lens?

Thanks. Can't wait to get my hands on it...

Chris

Backfocus adjustment is a wormgear transport for the sensor instead of the lens mount. Similar to the F35, although that camera does not have interchangeable mounts (well, not like Epic & Scarlett anyway). Use a device like the NULL Lens to reset flange depth after changing the mount. Takes just a few seconds.
