Further to the Saturday and Monday meetup threads, for those who will be attending the first day of exhibitions on the Friday I thought I'd gather a few details for people to meet up. It was Friedrich's idea (Blueandgreen) so thanks for the suggestion.

I've found a cafe/bar that opens at 10.00am on the outskirts of the RAI. I'm sure it might get busy with others waiting to go in, but it's close and opens onto the street. I'll hopefully be there by 10.00am so feel free to join for a coffee or a beer if you're about.

The name of the cafe is "Cafe The Corner"

Scheldeplein 2,
1078 GR Amsterdam.
Tel: 020 - 662 9627

Here is the position on Google Maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=52.344580,+4.890540&ie=UTF8&ll=52.342969,4.890289&spn=0.009583,0.020084&t=k&z=16&iwloc=addr&om=1)

We'll be entering the RAI from the most Northerly point on the East side which is about 250m (800ft) south of the cafe. (Google Maps link (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=52.342117,+4.890375&ie=UTF8&ll=52.342307,4.890836&spn=0.004791,0.010042&t=k&z=17&om=1)) As you can see from this floorplan image (http://www.ibc.org/cms_images/1e6.jpg) that it represents one of the closest to the Red Booth. We'll be wondering over to the entrance about 11.30 I would imagine, doors open at 12.00 (Do the entrances get very busy first thing on the friday? If so maybe we'll go over a little earlier, I don't know! If anyone has any more idea I'll edit the time we'll be leaving the cafe).

I'll also be writing a report once we've been into the booth and uploading it to my website as soon as it's complete, so it ought to be up around 1-2pm dutch time (CEST) (12-1pm GMT, 8am-9am Eastern America, 5am-6am Western America - Hope those times are correct!). If anyone would like to help out with images or adding anything to the report I'd appreciate it. I'll post a link here on RedUser.net as soon as it's up and ready.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,

There are fairly long queues as they stick a coloured sticker on your badge after swiping it! That's assuming you have your badge.

What time do you suggest heading over there Stephen? And are the queues for registration or entrance or both, and will they be swiping badges before they actually open at 12 so people can register at say 9am, dissappear and then come back nearer 12?

Hi Paul and others coming to IBC. There's a registration booth at Schiphol airport where you can get your public transport pass among other things and avoid the long queues at the RAI center.

Take note that the exhibition only opens at 12 the first day, friday.

I'm up for a meeting before going in. Maybe 10:30 for a coffee then head over to try and get in early and finally see Crossing the Line in all it's 4k glory.

Red ! Will you be showing Crossing the Line in your booth ?

Cheers,
Damien

Thanks for the heads up on the registration booth at Schiphol airport Damien, I'll certainly keep an eye out for it. Yes I wrote in the original post about the doors opening at 12, so I'll be going at about 11.30 as long as I'm able to walk straight in having already registered. I'll hopefully be at the cafe from 10am.

I will try to make it to the cafe, but it will be very tight...

Damien thanks for the info, I will definitely look for this registration booth @ Schiphol airport. Any more precision on where it would be?

antoine.

If it's like last year, it's at the entrance of the great hall where you take the trains into town, hard to miss really. I found it no problem last year.

Cheers,
Damien

PS The free public transport pass doesn't include the train from the airport into town.

Hey guys,

great to meet you on Friday. For those interested in archiving their footage: I'll have a meet at the quantum booth at 15:00 for a LTO-Demo. Would be great, if someone provided already Red-footage (RED? Tonaci? Blair? OffHollywood?), just to see it working. Although, what I haven't figured out yet, is in what file-format it should be stored.

Thanks for responses!

Cheers, Friedrich

BTW when I look out of my window - it's SNOWING :cold:
