The Euphonix MC color isn't out yet, so it would hard to say anything much about it right now...

OK

Here we finally go...

Again...

I, mean...

Of course, RED isn't? No!

But how come Jarred says things like this?

So. Are we talkin a RAW online app running directly on RR or not?
With a proper RED-Room and data locked into RGB out of that?

Ssssssh.
Not so loud.

Don't even think about it.

haha...just couldn't resist the tease could you? Okay, I'll bite, REDCINE-X integration and or ROCKETcine-X?

I've been riding the fence on whether or not to pick up the Tangent Wave. I've heard good things about the Wave but really want to try it first before purchasing. The other nice thing about the Wave is that it is supported in Scratch, SpeedGrade and Color. I think I heard the other is only supporting Color but I could be wrong or at least thats what I've read elsewhere.

Looking forward to the Tangent Wave implementation with ROCKETcineX+REDRocket for onSet

fast grade to show what new Mysterum-X sensor enabled RED cameras (RED1, Epic, Scarlet,...) can do for you.

A dream combo for a new digital filmmaker:

Not much use without a 3-way "room" or two or ten, though... After development settings.

Hm...

"About Tangent Devices & Tangent Wave

Both companies are dedicated to providing high quality solutions for the visual post-production industry worldwide."

So they are specialized just for the visual post-production consoles.

LINK>>> (http://www.tangentdevices.co.uk/aboutus.asp)

"Euphonix, a leading manufacturer of large-format digital audio consoles, media controllers, and peripherals,..."

LINK>>> (http://www.euphonix.com/artist/about/)

So they are doing many other this too and not so exclusive specialist for the visual post-production like Tangent is.

Also they try to integrate the high-speed EuCon Ethernet control protocol but took them longer...

As I said before if you ask for the best whisky don't expect to find it in Ireland, US, Canada, Japan,... or wherever

except that you have to ask only for Scotch whisky that is made in Scotland.

Hope that helps.

Btw,

I passed several times AJA stand at IBC and once happened there that all three balls from Euphonics console were flying on the floor.

There were also some guys playing with the Euphonics console and suddenly that happened to them.

Then I collected the balls and put it back to the console, then turn on another side where was Wave and showed to the guys

that the case like this couldn't happen with Wave console just because the balls can be fixed after the installation.

Sorry it was just my little experience with Euphoincs grade console.

Now I have Wave and I'm happy with it.

Well the Euphonics at IBC was a not the final shipping version, so I'm sure the QC will be better.

the euphonics MC are shipping here in the UK. I just don't know which to get, as far as ican see the tangent is more versatile, and looks more like te systems used in the grading suites i have been in, with the digital display and button positions. I am leaning towards the tangent. why would the euphonics be any better , it only supports color where as tangent supports various programmes. any thoughts anyone?

Tangent kit is great. We have a CP100 here.....

Just in case any one creates any new software work with the new USB panels spare a thought for the Ethernet panels too. Its important for us !

I havn't used it yet, but from the mouth of Dirk from Euphonics, "The devices have deep integration with Final Cut studio, and actually deep integration with OS X. The EuCon is application aware so you can control any application that is active. You can even control iTunes and Safari if you want to"

Something like that.

That would most probably be the Euphonix MC control that's shipping NOT the Euphonix MC COLOR.

The Euphonix Eucon protocol has certainly allowed 'mass integration' across multiple apps for sure, and as a package multiple panels from Euphonix seems to make sense for an online suite scenario. That is - where you might be jumping between FCP, Color, Soundtrack, Motion etc, etc...

I have to say I have been pretty much surgically attached to my Tangent CP100 for three years now - and it's great. As a company Tangent support is spot on - an important concideration - Not that I'm saying Euphonix is bad - I'm sure they are great too, but have not as yet had dealings with them other than at shows.

The Wave button layouts are customisable and can be updated live whilst Color is still running should you feel the need! (customisation - something I can not sadly do on my CP100!) I'm used to the separate ball/rotary encoder separation as laid out on The Wave and CP100. Some people may prefer / be used to the layout on the CP200 / MC Color. Certainly worth thinking about if you are going to be making a purchase.

I had a play with the Euphonix MC Color @ IBC - pretty good initially, but the buttons are quite small and the balls sit quite high. Might not bother you, but when this is your interface day in day out points like this are worth considering.

I'll stop writing now!
