So I'm in Montana shooting in temperatures ranging from 10-25 degrees F and the EVF does not like me at all. Has anyone figured out a solution yet to the intense solarization that happens when the EVF gets below comfortable Southern California weather? It's slowing production down when I have to bring the EVF inside the camera truck after every take to re-warm it. I'm thinking tomorrow, I'll try some foot warmer packets or something..

Keslow Camera has added an EVF Heater to some of their EVF's. Not that its going to help you very much.
Maybe try some of the Gel packs we use for keeping the camera Cool, and instead Heat them to keep the EVF warm

EVF heater? Do they sell this? Sounds awesome... I'm amazed at just how quickly the Red EVF goes to complete crap in cold temperatures. Kinda frustrating but I'll deal with it.

I made myself a "sock" for my EVF out of the sleeve of an old coat. Sorry, don't have a picture at the moment, but it works quite well. I stuff the hand/foot warmer packs inside. Tested for a couple hours yesterday morning with the temp at 17 degrees F warming up to about 22 degrees.

We have a custom made EVF and RED camera body neoprene cover with strategically placed pockets for hand warmers to help keep the camera and EVF warm in cold climates. Unfortunately we aren't in production yet but hope to be soon. We do have working prototypes however that we are happy with and ready to go to press. They are called "camera cozy".

I found a "cooler bag" for a baby's bottle - neoprene with a silver plastic interior lining - zips at one end.
found it in the baby section of a dept store.
that would keep it toasty warm.
The EVF fits in snugly.
