Who wants to name what they think is the worst movie ever?
My vote: The Creators Game
Has anybody seen this movie? It's a really, really terrible movie. I watched just a little bit of it, it sounded terrible, was really grainy, had bad acting, bad dialogue and a boring story.
I heard that "Aussie Park Boyz" is a really terrible movie too. But never saw it myself.

Alien Seed, Elves, Cyber-C.H.I.C., and Laser Moon all tie for crappiest films ever.
Humm, those are all features I worked on in the early nineties... wait a minute...
Although movie critic Joe Bob Briggs sort of liked the dialog I wrote for Laser Moon. Sorta...

Wow. I'm here to pick a fight.
Jamie, I liked 13th warrior. Did you know it was supposed to be story about the events that inspired beowolf? Not the best movie ever by far, but I bought it for $5 and it was well worth it.
Kalone, You are also crazy. Lord of the Rings, though not perfect, was definitely awesome. Also, Transformers was awesome because it had giant robots that turn into awesome muscle cars that fight each other with big guns.
Clearly the worst movie ever was Batman and Robin, because never has so little been made of so much potential.

You guys are forgetting the very forgettable, "Gymkata".
I must admit that I've never seen it, but the trailer (and wonderful writing, "the combustion becomes an explosion") is enough to earn it a spot on this list.

that romance set in chicago starring Lance Bass from N'Sync. what was its name? it was on the CW for their sunday afternoon shitty movie a thon yesterday. my gawd that was awful. i think that was the worst acting performance i've ever seen. even worse than nic cage in Snake Eyes. yes, even that.

There are levels of badness this thread hasn't even begun to approach.
The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington with Joey Heatherton. Tortuous.
And the last 2/3rds of Blind Date was excruciating. But that's me. Janet Masling of the The New York Times gave it a good review. Go figure.
I'd rather be water-boarded than to sit thru either of those movies again.

I'm pretty sure Plan 9 From Outer Space won the award for worst film of all time, and rightly so. Even things like turkish star wars really can't hold a candle to the garbage Ed Wood put on film.

Usually if their really bad, hardly anybody knows about them.
Kalone: The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen, Duplex, The Lord of the Rings and The War of the Worlds (I was watching it when I read your post :)) are some of my favorites.
Anything with Ben Aflek or anything with Nicolas Cage? That's no fun naming it like that.

BTW, What's your conclusion on War of the Worlds so far? Did you like it?
On Mr. Coppola aka Nick Cage: It's like I said it. I really hate all of his movies. He simply doesn't work for me as an actor. He's surely a nice guy and so on, but that's a different thing.

Striptease.
Striptease for sure! End of discussion. Especially given the probable budget. The plot gets dilluted and lost in an obvious attempt to make it into a hit on the basis of a "demi-gets-in-the-nude" stunt.
Even funnier from the perspecitive of a liberal European audience. http://www.pimpmybits.com/Stripttease.png
To get the "daring" venture into some European perspective you could always bring porn star Staller (Ciccolina) into memory as she was elected to the Italian parlament in '87!!!
That makes a synopsis based around a famous actress showing her nipples kind of not as much going out on a limb as intended...

I caught the end of James Bond, Die another Day earlier this evening. That has to been one of the worst films in my opinion. Not only does it have a poor script, bad acting, ridiculous gadgets and really annoying characters like a million other films, but it belongs to perhaps the most renowned film series of all time and it is still so poor - I'm not saying Bond films are masterpieces but getting it SO wrong when you're spending 100 million on it and you know people are wanting to watch it before you've even written the script you've got to be at least close to the mark. Seriously, after watching Casino Royale, Die another Day seems like a complete and utter piss take.
In truth I could probably think of worse but having just watched the end of it, just to check it really was as bad as I remembered, I cannot think of any other at the moment!

I think we need to set guidelines for what is considered "bad", and what we should post on this thread. Are we talking about Hollywood mega-bucks gone horribly wrong (like Batman and Robin or The Postman?) Or are we referring to no-name crap like Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter or Chupacabra Terror?
IMHO, we should stick with the Hollywood movies that by all rights SHOULD have been good, but were mangled beyond recognition before hitting the silver screen. Stuff like Gigli, or Aeon Flux, or Nacho Libre. Because clearly, Lord of the Rings, boring as you may find it, is leagues better than CUBE 2.
What do you all think?

There seems to be not too many Nick Cage fans here. I'm not a fan either. In fact there was a movie on tv just the other day with Nick Cage in it. I actually watched it for a few minutes just saying to myself.... "You are the worst actor in the world.... how the hell do you even get these rolls?"
The main reason I like LOTR is because they are one of my favorite books my mom read to me when I was little. Many of the scenes from the movie look exactly like I pictured them in my head while my mom was reading.

Hey, Curran, that's in fact a very interesting and good point. I've also got some quite or really bad movies on my "ok"-list, like Twister or Jurassic Park 2. But since I connect them with a nice period in my life or just a single nice day the movie itself became subjectively somewhat better.

All comic book based movies including "Batman," "Spiderman," "X-Men," "Daredevil" (and anything else with Ben Affleck), anything with Vin Diesel (including "The Fast and the Furious," etc.), and anything with Chris Tucker screaming in my ear during the entire movie like "Rush Hour" ("The Fifth Element" is the one exception). Given how great The Full Monty was based on a similar premise it really shows how horrible striptease was. (and The Full Monty was first so they could have just copied it and been fine)
A six minute version of striptease might be worth $5 though.

That's actually Chris Tucker (Rush Hour, Fifth Element). Can't stand the guy, way too annoying. I hated The Fifth Element... Thought it was cheesy and Tucker just ruined what little there was to salvage. Milla Jovovitch was cute, but I can watch lots of other movies to see cute girls. I'm a big-time Sci-Fi guy too and I just thought the movie sucked donkey balls.
I'm not a huge Will Smith fan either, especially in movies like "M.I.B." and "Independence Day."

I think that we should have no-names. Or just unsuccesful ones. That's why I don't want to hear people say Titanic or Gone with the Wind. :)
There are a lot of things that are generally accepted as a principal for a "Bad" movie, Catwoman for example is deemed "Bad" for it's differences from the comic, while others like the knew change, and so it could simply be that something is uncomforting or uninteresting to one. And so it seems there are very few reasons after you remove the personal opinions, if any. And additionally, you need the know the intent of the one who created the work. For example: if one created a film solely for the purpose of being "Bad", it would probably not be counted as a "Bad" movie (for the same reason Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis isn't counted as the longest English word.) But there is one reason that I know of that should be acceptable as a one true way to figure if one film is "Bad". And that is if the creator of the work did not accomplish what he/she/it/they intended. Perhaps another way is what is decided by popular vote.
Does anyone agree with me?

I suppose it was unique, from a Hollywood point of view. But that could be said about most "unique" Hollywood films. Like I said, I'm a big Sci-Fi person... There's a whole world of Science Fiction out there that Hollywood has yet to even touch on and the indie crowd never seems to go anywhere close... In the world of Sci-Fi literature, stories like the Fifth Element and many of the concepts within aren't all that groundbreaking.
There's a lot of great ideas out there and I hope that someday, I will be able to bring some of that to the big screen.

Interesting... that movie would be in my Top 50 Best Films. I'm unsure how you could rate a movie that deals with infidelity, death of a daughter/mother and finding love again at 50+ presented in a funny, yet poignant way on your worst movie ever list.
I must have seen that movie at least a dozen times, each time taking away something new.
