1110 here, but what's the point..? By the time this reservation window closes, I would imagine there will be a few hundred more.

There has been a lot of talk of how high the reservations will go. This is just one way we can see as it happens.
Jason Francois

What's the point? Exactly. The point is that there is no point other than the need for us to define the point to see where we stand on the original point. Get my point?
Sorry, I've been drinking again. :)

I'll go with 613 new camera reservations by midnight wednesday... Seems like a nice number. :)
...And I just realized that I'm now the top poster here on these forums. I guess I need to lay off the RED kool-aid and find something more constructive to do. Ah, but what to do when I sit here sipping my tea while babysitting a render farm?

[1189] <- there you have it.. (but I reserved 48 hours ago so there must be higher numbers)Whew! Finally, someone with a higher number than me!
Yeah, I submitted Sunday morning at 8:00AM and got 1148, so it seems to be an average of about 40-50 a day since then? I thought I was going to get a much lower number, comparable to Gaspacho and AppliedVisual. I definitely thought I would be <1100, so I would still be in the "cool" group.
I am surprised that the reservations aren't skyrocketing. I was expecting several thousand after this long respite. But, I suppose that's simply because people aren't aware that reservations have opened up again (I wasn't--I found out purely by accident).

Yeah, I thought I would be <1100 as well. I know of two on here that put in their reservation less than 30 minutes before I did and they're both under 1090. But I suppose there could have been that many reservations in that short of time. I know that #1180 existed before they started taking reservations this time around, I was there at Midnight PST and the reservation form didn't show after about an hour and I fell asleep until 2AM PST. I submitted my reservation at 2:09AM PST. So from the time they opened up to the time I submitted mine, no more than 29 people slipped ahead of me. I'm also considering the possibility that PayPal hosed me and RED didn't necessarily receive reservations instantaneously or in the order they were submitted to PayPal.
Either way, I'm happy with my #. If I could specifically request a # at this poing I would either pick #1111, #1234, or #1313... But my #1110 will do just fine. :)

Ahhh yes....I had the RED FAX form filled out in the first round but was not ready because the HD projects were not here and I thought, if I can't get lousy HD jobs why would I need 4K? Well in that time all of my jobs have been HD, SD is now dead for me....I can see a great future of producing
higher end HD projects for the foreseeable future!

I did the same thing... In fact it's still here in a tray on my desk. I actually made the decision to fax it in not too long ago, only to find out that reservations were closed. D'oh! Oh well, I have my # now. I have no idea why I kept hesitating... I've never doubted Jim and RED I just couldn't make up my mind.

Anybody out there that have received confirmation from Rayan after my time and
has already assigned reservation number?
I paid by PayPal for my reservation 2 hours after reservation had started.
Received confirmation from PayPal at 5:00AM LA time on 20-th of Jan.
Received confirmation from Rayan (RED) at 7:31AM LA time on 21-st
Receipt ID: 0673-4055-0042-8526
I see that there are people that have received reservation number already, in spite that they paid long after the time I paid.
Maybe the confirmation time from RED is the key factor here or my reservation fall off the table and dog (RED) eaten it:-)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I may have the highest score when the final tallies do come in. :( I made my reservation last night with just less than three hours to spare.
I just stumbled onto this site and the Red One in general only a couple days ago. I kept hearing people mention Red, but I never looked into it. I figured it was just another high-end camera outside my price range. I was in the market for something like the HD110, but then finally looked into the Red One and was completely blown away. Yeah, I know it's about $10k more, but I figure I can make that up rather quickly by pimping my services out. Then I'll have a camera for indie film work that beats the HD110 hands down.
What really impressed me about Red was not only the amazing deal it was, but the community and the team involved in making it. I come to this forum and I see a solid [future] user base and a team who interacts with them and takes their suggestions under consideration. That just really impressed me and I wanted in! So, I thought long and hard about it yesterday and made the plunge last night. Now I can't wait! :)
Sorry for the long post, but I thought I should introduce myself while bearing the bad news. I'm looking forward to getting to know this community a little better in the coming months. Oh, and if I have the highest score, what do I win? :p

Interesting - I wonder how many others were in this boat?? Seeing as that your RED will not ship anytime soon, what are you going to use if an HD job pops up? I have had my HVX200 since March and it gets a fair workout.

Haha... I can only make one decision at a time. Yesterday's was to pull the trigger on a Red One reservation. Today's is to figure out what to do in the meantime. ;) I'm assuming June would be the earliest my Red would be available, so I'll probably just end up getting the HD110 anyway and sell it if necessary (hopefully I won't have to) as my number gets closer to being called. I'm sure people will be posting here when they get their camera, so we should all have a pretty good idea of when our numbers are up.

Sometimes the "fashionably late" person does end up the life of the party. :)
In the NFL draft the very last guy drafted each year is termed "Mr. Irrelevant" by the media, and becomes an instant celebrity. A bunch of those guys over the years have been motivated to work extra hard to prove themselves, and have been real successful because of it! With RED One, I don't think even the last person to reserve a RED One camera is "Mr./MRS/Ms. Irrelevant", but in a sense they'll be a "celebrity" on REDUser for squeeking into "the club" under the wire.
Maybe a custom screened T shirt for them would be a cool idea?

I'm sure it's not all JUST about marketing to Jim and the RED team, but looking at Oakley's history, we shouldn't expect anything less than this great move.... a 4500% increase in demand.
Jim's way of dealing with word-of-mouth and knowing how to get people excited in just the right places should show up in college courses.
It feels like a Steve Jobs marketing plan, but more-than-likely without all the spin. (no knock against apple, but Jobs spins a bit from time to time)
I hope #1500 shows up soon and let's us in on the final number.

I ordered the RED ONE on Sunday and pulled the trigger on the RED ZOOM on Wednesday. No word yet on my serial # on either except a response from RED to my email.

While that may appear to be a lot of money, we have no idea what cost have been incurred during development, which I'm willing to bet has been significant, so don't let the raw numbers fool you.
