Red offered Lenses

Has anyone here seen or tested the lenses that red is offering, if so how do these lenses compare to other lenses used by arri and panavision, or those high quality planar lenses that are used on motion pictures?

Would it be worth it to purchase those lenses of this camera or would it be better in your opinion to rent our lenses for use with the red?

Please do a search. Most of your questions have been discussed heavily here. Red has stated that they are making lenese specifically for thier Mysterium sensor. The only one we have had a chance to play with is the 18-50 T3 close focus zoom. Although it was well built and seemed sharp on the monitors we did not have a chance to do any serious testing. Gibby, myself and a slew of DPs here on Reduser will be testing this and any other lenses we can at the LART (Los Angeles Red Test) in a few weeks so stay tuned.

BTW most of us don't believe Red would make such an amazing camera and not produce lenses that could perform exquisitely on it.

Thanks for the reply, I very much appreciate that. Is there also a way to go out and see some of the tests there in Los Angeles, im actually very close by so I was wondering when/where it would be and if possible to go see some of it in action?

That's Gibby's call, but we have a very full plate for our two day test. Results will be posted here very shortly after.
