Hey Everyone,
I am currently in my final year in the BA Degree course in Photography, in DIT Dublin, Ireland. For my Dissertation and Major Project, I am looking into the REd cameras, and the technology behind the camera.

For my Major, I am looking to use one of the cameras to experiment in taking stills at international rugby and football matches. As a student I cannot afford one of these cameras. I could rent, at a push, but I was wondering if there was anyone out there, or anyone from RED, who would be interested in assisting me with my project. The camera is hardly used in Ireland, and it would create good publicity for the company.

Regards,

Hey there

Further to your post.

There are plenty of RED's in Ireland and they being used extensivley ? They are read available and in fact I have a rental company that has six of them ! They are used for everything over in Ireland and we have had them on Features, RTE / BBC / ITV Dramas , Commercials and other projects. As a country we are complteltly geared to the RED with downloaders / DIT'S readily available and the post houses up to date with all workflows !

Hi Rob,

I'm currently working on my first project with Red. Just to let you know, you are highly (and I mean highly) unlikely to get hold of one for free, especially for such a small personal project.

You can rent them from DP's and small time user/owners for less than a hundred quid in some cases. That would be your best bet.

Well Dublin/Wicklow is, its a barren wasteland out here in the west!

And on a more serious note, are you going to be holding your AC/Camera Trainee workshop in the near future? Drop me PM if you have any details.
