RAW FOCUS

I've been thinking about a potential feature in future cameras (both still and video). I'm aware of the enoumess amount of data it will need to store, and therefore huge files. BUT, I think it is awsome and could make a lot of things different. I'm thinking about a camera that shoots EVERY focus point available. Meaning you can set the focus in post-production, meaning your object will be razer-sharp. Plus you can get different pictures focusing on different things in the picture.

There has already been research into this with effectively many sensors and lenses on a chip. I don't have a link.

The principle works, but the current resolution is so low that it would only be usable in very limited applications.
