Is it possible to mix canon 7d footage with red? I am shooting a feature and i have a couple of shots i need to shoot run and gun. Shots i know will be impossible to get with the red one camera.

I saw the gh1 5d red one shoot out and they seemed to mix pretty well. Am I wrong in thinking this can be done?

This can be done no problem. Just worked on a music video where we did this and worked great. Obviously not the same quality, but works well if its motivated.. ie. low light hard to reach shots..

Depends what you're finishing at... It it's 2K or 1080p, the 7D footage will probably look a little soft in comparison to the RED footage.

When will we be able to see it. I am very curious now. Did you finish in 1080p?

you'll be alright, you'll just need to color match the shots, and since it's a music video the shots would most likely be so quick, it won't be noticed except to the trained out. think shooting 2k for high framerate mixed with 4k downrezed footage, considerably softer then if u shot 4k. sort of along the same lines, all that will matter is how good your content is, how well you shoot it, and how good your cuts are. you'll find that everything will fall into place and everything will look great.

I am trying to shoot certain scenes entirely with the 7d. Is there any drawbacks in thinking it could be done. I figure its the same way that film TAKEN was shot Most of it was filmed with film but all the night exteriors were shot in hd.
