We are getting close to shipping 50. When do you all anticipate releasing the physical specs for all of the accessories?

I want my custom Calzone case ready and waiting for when FedEx delivers that camera, and they need those specs.

Great idea, it would be nice if the Red team could provide us with a simple cad file so we can start building our cases asap...

...maybe Jim has this detail covered with his own product. Oakley sold some very cool cases.

I'd be happy with some laser-cut foam inserts for Pelican and Storm cases direct from RED. Simple CAD files would be handy too. I'm still not ruling out the possibility of RED providing cases and bags as well, but since we haven't heard or seen anything specific, I doubt it will happen before all the reservation holders get their cameras.

Wow, are you serious???? Not even a hard case for the camera? How do they intend on shipping then? Peanuts???

Yeah....but if I bought a Ferrari I would expect seat covers...wouldn't you?:w00t:

...and that still dosen't answer the question as to how they will ship the camera.

Err... Packed in foam within a cardboard box, like every other piece of electrical equipment you ever buy?!

I don't see what the problem with this is - I've never bought a camera (or any piece of equipment I can think of off the top of my head, for that matter) that came within it's own case - perfectly standard practice to ship in this fashion...

we get $30000 hp spec ans shipped all the time with standard foam and cardboard. i would love to drive my redone home myself in a little bassinet but that's not going to happen. if we trust red to develop an entire 4k camera/workflow system, i think we can trust they'll find an economic and safe way to ship the cameras on time.

seems a little bit too much worrying/micromanaging. The RED team are not idiots, they will ship your camera in an appropriate shipping box with appropriate filler.

No reason to expect that they would or should provide you with a transport container or bag.

With that said, I think the release of physical specs would help a lot of people for a lot of legitimate reasons.

Agreed.

Pelican cases are really good, I ship them across the country all the time, but....

this is a $30,000 camera system, I want it in an Calzone case.

Anywho.... hopefully physical specs will be released on accessories soon.
