RED number 7036 arrives tomorrow and I feel like I am 10 years old on Christmas eve. I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight. Just had to let someone or everyone in this case know!! I will name it as soon as the box arrives tomorrow, I have a name picked out, but am following the rules!!!

On another note, anyone know of a good external Blu-ray burner?? I need to buy one for my Mac and can't seem to find one that is either compatible or quality?! Please help...I posted in a different thread, had a lot of people read it, but no replies

First of all congratulations on your RED. You're gonna love it.

About the Blu-Ray.

I use this burner
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Pioneer/BDR205BKMP/
under windows vista. It works great.

For external burning i would choose this http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MRF8BDSD12XT/
This one comes with "TOAST", a blu ray burning software

I can't believe this!! I was out today and FEDEX actually showed up a day early and I missed my CAMERA!!! HA HA!! I am stunned, but also very impressed with the fact they delivered a day early. Both RED and Fedex got me the camera quicker than I expected.

Also thanks for the advice on the Blu-ray burner, I am going to purchase the OWC Mercury Pro 12x Blu-ray Pioneer BDR-205 External

That burner looks really nice and is compatible with the MAC. Thanks again, I have been searching high and low and somehow never came across that burner.

Good luck with your RED.... I know the feeling. That feeling of excitement comes in waves btw... sometimes you'll have gear for months and then with new knowledge or a new project... the love comes back all over again. I feel the same way now about lenses or when I look at a nice image on the display and think... wow... I have a RED camera.

FWIW, every Blu-Ray burner on the market that works with Windows will also work with the Mac. The Pioneer from OWC is a good choice, the Pioneer is a solid drive and OWC puts it in a nice enclosure and will give a good warranty.

Personally, I'm using the LG burners in a Bytecc enclosure and I have been very pleased with these two. Will save some $$ compared to the OWC option, but then you have to put it together yourself and only get the manufacturer 90-day warranties.
