Hi All,
OK, so I've just posted about the possibility that I may be cashing in but as yet I have opted to stay in the game. My delivery time is not expected until sometime late in December so I have a few months yet to exhaust all avenues to get the green light to use RED for my future works etc.
Anyway to expand on plans I just wanted to let the British fraternity know of my impending return to those cold shores!! I'm currently looking to be based somewhere in the environs of Bristol seeing as thats pretty much the global epicenter for all things related to natural history production etc (BBC NHU and all support personnel / entities are there).
My employment with Nat Geo is initially as an Independent Contractor for the first year on a probationary foundation. I've worked these deals before and it all went without a hitch but they have to look out for #1, as everyone should, in the long run and cover themselves with a get out clause. That said, and I have no doubt that things will work out, but I just thought that I'd mention to everyone here that I may potentially be in the UK with a RED that will be ready with all underwater accessories by around March of 2008.
If all goes well I'll then be looking to move on to a permanent base in Washington D.C sometime after October of the same year. Even if it's not for work related issues but just to look at, touch and learn about RED from film related people (seeing as I'm stepping in from 1/3" CCD land) anything would be welcomed.
Cheers,
Mark.
