After looking at that 30th Oct thread, with over 1,400 replies and 3/4 million views, I thought it might be good to start a couple of threads specific to individual features of the new cameras, just to reduce the amount of trawling required, provided you know what you're interested in researching. So here goes.

And I'll start with a few questions for Jim and co.

1. As the camera has no mirror or pentaprism, I assume the AF sensors must be reading off the MX sensor. If that's the case, does that mean that AF is theoretically possible during motion capture?

2. Will the AF system have the ability to recognise shapes like face recognition software in $200 compact cameras? So you could point it at a shape and it would be able to track that object as it moved about in shot (as distinct from locking the focus zone to an x/y reference in the frame, meaning that if the subject (or grip or operator) missed their marks, the AF would focus on whatever else happened to fall in the zone. Pattern recognition would enable the camera to track the object (within reason) even if it landed somewhere unexpected.

3. Will it be possible to set the reaction speed of the AF system so that it was fast for stills and slower for motion?
