When is the earliest I can get an affordable 2-3 day rental (preferably with glass) on a RED camera in Seattle for a independent micro-film-shoot?

CF or RED-RAM may be necessary.

Gavin,

If you can't get a local Seattle guy that can supply you that, like Billy Summers or TJ, then I'd be happy to hook you up on that. Just email me...

I love the Northwest! I used to live in Washington and Oregon

I'm simply a 3 hour drive and I'll have my Red within 10 days. PM me the details of your project if you are interested.

I should have also mentioned you Shawn, when I mentioned Billy and TJ. Sorry, a million things on my mind today, so that slipped by me.

Yeah, Portland to Seattle is an easy drive...done it many times.

Have fun on that guys!

Cool. I'm thinking about shooting the "Just Add Water" script or some derivative of it before february since we aren't shooting it at LART. I'm going to see if I can get some inexpensive/favor-for-a-friend greenscreen stage time on Seattle G&L's large stage.

Time frame is probably Early November <-> Early February since I would like to be able to actually pay you guys for your trouble which can't happen for a couple of months. Something I'm sure you're all interested in happening as well. ;)

Either that or I have a couple of spec commercials I've been wanting to shoot for about a year now but one of them requires a location shoot in eastern oregon which would probably actually push it out to mid March when the snow melts. One of which I was just about ready to shoot on 35mm but then saw RED footage last year and decided "what's a year to wait."

I'll be sure to remember you Portland guys, I always forget there's another urban center so close.

Edit: If anyone needs some cheap/free PA work on weekends let me know I would love to help and get some RED experience and well--because I'm bored and need something to do.

What do you consider affordable? Also, why will the shoot necessitate solid-state recording media? In terms of glass, would you be happy with SLR glass, or do you expect cine-lenses?

I want to be able to run handheld and if the hard drives eat it under such scenarios I would need a CF/Flash option. However if they can stand jostleing-and-such then the HDD is fine.

I'm shooting for $600-900 a day w. SLR glass. I'm also open to possible labor exchanges if Straightface Studios can provide some vfx in exchange for one of your projects.

I'm pretty much busy solid through til' early november right now so I'm still trying to decide how best to break up my time/resources.

Thanks again for all the replies.
