So does the RED Rocket™ *Always* do a full debayer?
If so will it ever be controllable to different levels?

Yes, always a full debayer and a hardware downscale to 2k and lower resolutions.

Deanan,
Which is shaper, the RED ROCKET hardware full debayer with the downscale to 2K, or software native REDLINE 1/2 high with OLPF down to 2K?

I think you will not get the same quality, also when the image of the rocket looks a little more soft. The noiselevel of the rocket render is quite lower compared to a half software debayer.... thats what I can see here.... post sharpening, as Deanan said, will come later on.... I see at the moment no urgent need of it...

Rocket Fuel, with the RED Rocket card, offers realtime sharpening and filtering tools (Lanczos, Mitchell, Bicubic, Gaussian, Box, etc...) for downscaling from the Rocket card.
The full resolution debayer at full resolution is taken from the RED Rocket card, and sharpening/filtering is done via SCRATCH CINE and the CUDA-enabled v5.0 toolset.
Best,
Lucas

Lucas,
Its time to come for Mac version.
Already Davinci Resolve, Autodesk Smoke and in future Lustre, Baselight in Mac.
