I have two cameras reserved (scheduled for delivery in Dec 07 and Jan 08). I am located within an hour (in normal LA traffic) of Universal Studios. I would be very interested hearing any proposal you may have.

Only just saw this post—I'll cross-post my recent thread:
Cameras: RED ONE bodies x3
Lenses: TBD
Accessories: TBD
Location: Los Angeles, California (will also ship domestically)
Insurance: Must provide certificate of insurance stating owners as "loss payee" for full replacement value—NO EXCEPTIONS.
My personal RED consortium, "RED411.NET," has purchased a total of three RED ONE body reservations, due for delivery in December 2007, and one, two, or all three are available for short- or long-term (preferrably long-term) rental. Available accessories TBD, depending on demand. Familiar rates will apply. Reserve in advance.
The only thing we can offer above and beyond single-camera owners is that we have three bodies, and will be able to commit the necessary resources to offer 24/7 in-field support of all three bodies. All accessories including drives, batteries, etc. can also be provided from a single source. We are also local to the Hollywood-Burbank production zone (offices in Culver City), and have access to qualified, experienced, IATSE and NABET technical crew if needed. E-mail me at director@level4films for more details.

Hello ,
My name is Juan Elgueta, im writing from Chile and i have a small production company. I'm looking to buy a red camera, but first or meanwhile, due to my location in the world, i would like to have the oportunity to participate only as a viewer or assistant in some shootings with the red so i can get and understanding and know how of the camera and it's processes. Also at a level of post production, downloading material etc. I have work with digital cameras and film cameras for the last 10 years. I can work almost in every field of the business, and i'm willing to do it for free just to have teh chance to get close to a red camera before I buy it or menawhile i wait it's delivery.
I know this has nothing to do with your statement but I don't have many choices and the online course doesn't convince me. If you can help me, i would really apreciate and who knows maybe later, I could be a helping hand for you. I studdy film in new york and my english is very good.
Thanks in advance ,
Juan Elgueta

Does everyone here aware of the scam for RED ONE camera ? i believe there was a guy named 'Abdul' rented Red #90 (or so) in new york and went missing a few days later. even though he WAS a REGULAR customer he cant be traced by his production company/address/HP No/credit card or what ever info he gave when renting the cam.
BE VERY CAREFUL to whom you rent out your 'Baby'
p/s: you cant earn a living if you live in fear of who might vanish with your camera. Business do have risk. BUT it is always good to do a little homework and background check on the production company u r renting to.
p/p/s: i think it's time to have GPS tracking system build in redone.the extra weight does gives u peace of mind.

I don't have many choices and the online course doesn't convince me. If you can help me,
Juan, you may want to take a look at fxphd.com. Their training courses are great, and they're early red adopters. They own #23, and will be starting a second semester of courses that are dedicated specifically to redone starting January 14th.
Although I haven't taken the red course, their production knowledge and expertise impressed me when I took their AE, FCP and Shake courses last Summer.
Mike Seymour, one of the founders of fxphd, frequents this board and posts somewhat regularly. I'm sure you could PM him with any specific questions.
Here ends my free commercial for fxphd.com.
Good luck.
