View Full Version : RAW
I nearly shot at 2K by mistake today as the 2K on the monitor is a little small. I was trying to find a place where a bigger indicator would fit and I noticed that RAW is displayed in rather large text. As the camera always shoots raw, is there any point in displaying it?

NO.
Since Red was sort of a start up camera many things had been done for marketing purpose only.
The RAW display, the Red icon while initializing, in which is even written "Shot on Red" or something like that.
It would more make sense to display at which View you are, Raw, Rec709 or RedSpace?
There are many things like that, i hope in the up coming generations these will move aside for a more professional and punctuality.

It does do that, at least in build 21.

Ouch.
The reason there is a RED logo on boot up, is that prior to that the camera screens were blank for a minute while it was booting
We were asked to reduce that "down time" and the answer was to allow the sensor image to be seen (so you could frame and focus) but we still needed something in place to tell you the camera wasn't yet ready to record.
Check Build 21 for a VIEW tally..
