That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. I was thinking "wow,....they're posting goofy pics of retro cameras now.....we really are out of things to post till they start shipping the first reds". But that's actually kinda cool now that I know.

Suta, your a little bad ass!! I am dying to put something like this together and not wait for the RED Rock Rig (though much respect is given). I have looked at all the adapters for years and never pulled the trigger (Cinemek, Hello?). I really want to put together a similar rig to shoot the LART in October, but cannot get my hands on an adapter for that time any more hints or help from this community is greatly appreciated.
Cheers-- Andrew

 Haha... Yup... and after a few months of deliberation I was about to put a deposit down when all the sudden... the website changed a little and they were no longer taking deposits. Its sad really, I thought they had something there...
Hey E. what do you think about Suta's rig, I am just now beginning my research that Suta laid out to Filmmakers Gang (BTW FMG-- I agree great indie spirit there...). Is this an adapter or the instructions on how to build one or both? I would love an SGpro but the waiting period is a killer for me.. I have access to a M2 as a last resort. I really need to put together a hv20 rig for the LART. Any and all help will be to everyones benefit here at reduser.
Thank you Emanuel.. still waiting on you to return the pm about that project. :-)
Cheers my friend-- Andrew

As a matter of fact E. it was you and Bruce that got my attention on this little gem and made me realise the potential. I will do my due diligence and start making calls to the various manufacturers. Now, I a yen for the Brazilians, please give us a link I would love to check it out.
--- One question, does anyone know off the top of their head how the RED Rock guys made the actual physical connection between the canon xl1 eye piece to the hv20?

Bruce,
I remember the offer and Gibby greatly appreciated it, but he has been inundated with all kinds of gear and goodwill... it was probably a matter of where to plug it into the process and keep up with it to make sure it is safe and cared for properly.
Bruce, this is awesome, I am smiling from ear to ear right now! This is huge and of course you will be fully credited at every opportunity. The other great thing is... I get to meet you and hang out a little! Haha... Also, what a great list of gear, I have been following the various forums and posts about the very thoughtful and logical process that led you to get this great gear.
I hope to get into LA a few days before the LART so I can shoot some very specific elements for the bts docco --ie, tabletop footage of all the various lenses (and other gear) being donated so everyone can get a good look from noob to pro on everything that is being used and how it is being implemented into RED's system of modularity. Plus many more things...
Bruce, you are a saviour and a godsend sir, I need to get to sleep soon but I will pm you shortly. You have my sincere thanks from me and everyone associated w/ LART.
Cheers -- Andrew

Your impression on both Robert?
M2 vs. this hungarian adapter (sorry but I don't remember yet the name)

All offers for assistance to LART were/are appreciated, but obviously we only have so much room on the team, facility space, and time/space for equipment usage. Your offer was very much appreciated, but as producers of the event we went a different direction on camera equipment.
Andrew, as noted above, we have some other plans for equipment for you to use. Communicate with me via email and I’ll explain. Because of a busy production schedule the info on the camera equipment we’d like you to use hasn’t been communicated to you. Sorry about that - my bad. Thanks for your proactive support for LART Andrew. Much appreciated…

Suta, by the way, have you tried different placing the GG further away from the HV20 via an extension tube? I am finding that sometimes that helps combat vignette a bit. I also PM'ed you about more stuff.
and BTW, HV20 vs. HV10 -- isn't it the same thing grosso modo? Although I'm talking about losses from the adapters themselves, not between different camcorder models...
HV20 is slightly better in low light than the HV10 because it has better noise reduction and also it has the 24p mode, which is more sensitive.
BTW, the thread hijacking continues... I'm very sorry. Come to LA and I will seriously buy you a ton of beers / dinner (in LA, a ton of beers is probably more expensive!).
>
Andrew, as noted above, we have some other plans for equipment for you to use. Communicate with me via email and I’ll explain.
Haha, I'm denied again! Gibby, I still love all of the invaluable advice you give on the forums (tripods and whatnot), so no problem. As a director I must admit that I've used "I'm sorry, but we're going in a different direction" once in order to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they'll enjoy the trip too ;) Hope you don't mean it that way though! I think I also offered to buy you lunch / drinks / dinner or something too when you're in LA - if you can find time for it, let me know, seriously. And I said you should stop by by the trailer company I work at so we can start using some nice 4K stock footage in our trailers ;)
Andrew, I was rather wondering why someone didn't just offer you their Red... it's going to be in October, after all! Looks like you're in luck ;) My stuff and my help will still be there if you need it but it looks like you might not be needing it. Have fun! Still hope to meet you.

Sorry, Suta. Okay, another question - the SpiderBrace looked to put the center of gravity too far forward to me, so I went with the Zacuto system. But yours is so light overall that it still works okay? It looks very elegant and fantastic, by the way.

What kinda trailers does the company make you work for?
I've been thinking about getting a new one for my Glaspar mini cabin crusier.
It's 16.5 feet long and has a beam of about 73 inches.

Sweet! With a nice boat like that, you'll definitely need a good trailer to do it justice. We do some pretty big trailers, so we'd be fine with your order. We're called mOcean so as you can tell, we love anything water-related.
I work on mostly the trailer titles so if you need some words painted across the side of your trailer saying "The World Ends This October" (preferably Trajan font, with bevel and shine), I'm your man. PM me.

Kick ass man. Reminiscent of the old handheld 8mm's or Arri's. Great look.
I've been looking at those canons closely. Great images. Are they all color corrected in post? I heard the downfall is lack of manual controls like IRIS! How does this affect your shooting (if at all) or is the auto iris good?
