Dear Chair.Tony ( Chairman SMPTE - HK SECTION / Marketing Director - Salon Films and Media - ASIA )
http://www.salonmedia.com/

if someone @Apple ASIA or Hong Kong or from USA do not invite me to attend their OWN Party at IVE HKG in HKG by tomorrow about Studio 2 's FCP workflows.

Then,

May I invite all the HKSC members or Film Directors Guide ( HKFDG ) or Post Houses like CENTRO / Digital Magic / Video Films / Digit Digit / Post Production /and the rest of the RED future owners in HKG not to go to attend their " UNREAL " Water Vapour SHOW IN HKG, it's " RED APPLE " Unopen party.

**** Edited. ****

I had to snip this. It just kept bothering me... There were far too many legit email addresses posted here, several from other industry companies like JVC, etc.. This doesn't belong here.

Stewart,

I've been entertained for a good 10 minutes. Honest to god, I've been laughing so hard my stomache aches. Not a mean laugh, though. Just a really good one.

And for those that don't understand any of Stewards posts at all; It is just that the chineese language uses expressions and grammars (especially idioms) that are _very_ differently from English. The many hyponyms and idioms makes looking words up in a dictionary, as I'm sure Stewart does, very difficult to do.

For english speaking Hong Kong people with some Chineese understanding though, his posts are a bit easier to understand. At least that is what I think.

*****

Stewart, a few words of brotherly advice, though.

1. Skipping the dictionary helps. Either that or switching to one taking care of idioms and hyponyms in a better way.
2. Chineese to English words can seldomly be looked up one-by-one in a dictionary as their meaning differs with context. Idioms can not be translated word by word.

I find that sticking to synonyms that you know of is better than looking words up if you can't make a selection of hyponyms and idioms using some search tool.

Best regards
Jack

Hiya Stewart,

Is there anything we should be worried about? I mean like, really?

Jack, like for real, I mean it. We need Stewart to help decode that very lenghty coded "beef" he obviously has with the numerous accomplices mentioned in his post.

Stewart, help a brother understand what's going on please!

To add to that:

Every language has different ways of expression and grammars. Some more, some less similar to English.
Count in cultural differences also. Since this is a global thing please keep that in mind, guys.

Stewart,
you probably mean well, but you may be disclosing (showing) information you shouldn't be showing.

They're a refreshing variation on this board.

Cheers.

I'd love to go to HongKong to check Red at your shop.

:) :) :) .... I'm almost peeing my pants. Jack this is truly a refreshing twist to an otherwise uneventful day. Need more disclosures in "absurd" languages (to borrow Gunleik's expression in another post). This is awesome stuff!

He is priceless. He's in the same league as the 'I kiss you' guy, or maybe even beyond that. I once saw his website, but I cannot seem to find it anymore. He's the type of guy you'd normally find in a Daft Punk video, holding a keyboard around his neck, and then riding off on a pink chopper.
Let's honour him with his own subforum where all his threads can shine in the glory they deserve.

I gather from this thread, if you're in Hong Kong, there is an event you should attend on the 24th.

Maybe this thread would be better served in the Asia User Group (http://www.reduser.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=12) subforum.

I just took a closer look at what our guy is trying to write, and to me it seems to be a very poor-written blackmail to someone working for Apple. I mean, the guy is having some sort of psychotic episode. This translation is the best I could:

Dear Tony (chairman of SMPTE),

if noone at Apple invites me to attend their party about Studio 2 's FCP workflows then I will tell all the HKSC members and Film Directors Guide and Post Houses and blablabla and the rest of the RED future owners in HKG not to go attend their show.

--- Mr. X , a decision Maker for 4K @ RED APPLE - USA - ASIA - Greater CHINA ( HKG / CHINA and later TW )

With my warmest regards,

STEWART CHONG
FOUNDER

Joust another man begging for a pass! Pathetic

Why don't you stop to insult your other members here?

Maybe changing places to another place out there. Just a tip.

I could never say such things to anybody. I find the message very offensive and rude!

Stewart... we all want to have you post on this board, although we don't always know exactly what you are saying. :-)

But, PLEASE do NOT attach or post private emails from RED employees on this or any other board. It makes all of our employees nervous to communicate directly with you by email if we know they will show up on a board somewhere.

Thank you for your participation on Reduser.

My best with deepest respect.

Jim

Dear REDHKSC,

I've seen a lot of posts from you over the last while, but I swear I don't understand a single one of them. Is it just me? I have a lot of friends in HK and many other countries and I can understand them, so I'm not sure if it is a language thing. What you post and the point of your posts seem to go beyond the notion of "lost in translation". I do appreciate everyone's input on this forum when it pertains to a greater knowledge base on the Red camera, so if you have any future posts that can enlighten us in any way I look forward to them.

Bit off-topic...

How does Red plan to market in China, Hong Kong or Taiwan, if ever? The Chinese government might take issue with the Red designation... which seems absurd to us, but could be a potential problem for Chinese filmmakers.

They can be pretty strict... I haven't read all of REDHKSC's posts but this does seem like a legitimate concern.

Hold on, maybe that's it. maybe this whole thing is a conspiracy? Yeah, maybe those perfectly intelligible emails leave REDHKSC's computer and then go through an International Email Filter kindly provided by the Chinese government. That way, perfectly sane, and possibly gifted professionals fail in attempts to appear attractive to potential employers therefore maintaining a pool of technical savvy within the country.......or maybe I'm just on cloud nine!!

Seemed possible?
Mark.
