I'm not a talent @ Red, but I don't see why it wouldn't be just as real in China or in India as anywhere else. Oh, and good luck with the red bottle thing...

Hi Stewart,
Another poster from India said they are pushing ahead
with High Definition exhibition in India. Digital 2/4k exhibition
should follow in Asia when prices come down. Red 4k projection
is in development and not ready at the moment.
Hope this helps and say Hi to Hong Kong for me.

India produces maximum amount of film in the world every year! (500+) but… the budgets are lower that US. Establishing a 4K work flow... to capture, store, DI etc... will be cost prohibitive for 95% of the productions. Only about 3% to 5% of the total films produced go through DI process today. Also 90% of the local films are shot in anamorphic format - (2k being ~1828 x 1556).

RED and similar technologies will have a good (great) future in the Indian market, eventually India will produce more films digitally (hopefully 4K) than any other country... "It is not if... it's when".

No need for this attitude on the board. If you don't like what he has to write, use the Ignore feature.

May I ask Ladies and gentlemen there ( USA ) ( EU ) for three questions ?

1) Have you ever geen to the Cinema in CHINA or In India recently ?

2) Do you know the size of the screen ?

3) How many seats for one screen ?

I am watching 150" Screen at Studiohome with my uncompressed HD footage in HKG, and all of us know HKG is small but expensive though.

Best regards,
Stewart
