I know there is a lot behind it, but I was just curious how far away detail controls are going to be for RedRocket processing.

The debayer was designed specifically for hardware so there isn't the flexibility you have with cpu based debayers to change things dynamically.

Thanks Deanan,
My question might not have been clear, I was lumping OLPF and Denoise into the "detail controls" label.
So what your saying is we won't have control over the OLPF compensation, or chroma denoise?
they are baked into the CPU on the Rocket at "optimal" settings?

Those are all tied to controlling the debayer which optimized for the hardware (not a cpu). We may be able to add some control back in eventually but not at the moment.

If you want my opinion, it doesn't need any OLFP compensation.
The images from RR are extremely clear, with true definition, and without artifacts.
Stunning.

True, however I have had issues already where I would love to be able to apply some heavier Post sharpening, or some moire reduction. Of course this can be done in a second software package, but there are advantages of doing it in the debayer process.

Great, this answers the same question I have had for some time. Thanks
