Just tested out my new Duclos pl 11-16mm wide zoom! Makes me happy needless to say. Can not speak highly enough of this lens. Flares like my beloved 10mm Switar on my Bolex and covers all the way out to 4.5K on the RED. Great job Dulcos!

Cool shot Taylor ! Thanks for sharing. Always liked those Switars, except when they unscrew when you pull focus !

Slick! I really like the flare on the second thumb. That's rather unique.
I'd love to see some motion shots with this lens... has anyone used it on a project yet?

I shot a feature with it...not permitted to release the footage yet, but it is a tiny marvel, this lens...anyone who buys it will not be disappointed. No vignetting at 4.5K. Nice and sharp. I'll see if I can put up a still of a Master Prime at 16mm and the Tokina sometime soon. You'll be amazed.

Medavoym, check out Matt Duclos' lens circle database. He's always adding to it. http://web.me.com/ducloslenses/DataRef/ImgCir.html
The image circle is 32-41mm, so it will cover 5K from 12 or 13mm onwards. There would be some degree of vignetting at 11mm, but I have no idea how much.

What prime set would this lens cut well with?

Here's a 1k still straight out of the camera shot at 11mm with Duclos Tokina.
Available light, wide open, with a small on camera LED panel for fill....

From my short experience of shooting wide open with RPPs and Tokina side by side, the Tokina has considerably less contrast and is slower so it's hard to compare. Would love to shoot again with it but stopped down a bit, it would probably match better. But the build is amazing and IMHO for the price it can't be beat.

Apologies for diverting the conversation, but...
Milan, I'm a huge BJ Penn fan... did you shoot a UFC promo or something with him?

Well, you have something to celebrate then. :)
I shot a little commercial for RVCA couple of weeks ago, leading to the championship fight: http://www.vimeo.com/8056166
Editing and grading are lacking a little but sometimes those things are out of DP's control. ;)

Yeah, for sure. It's great seeing him living up to that insanely high potential.
On a side note, it's a nice looking piece. I actually think that the grading works in most places. Did you use a steadicam for any of the push ins or shots where you were following him walking?

Omar, thanks for the kind words.
It was all dolly and also some handheld in the octagon, no steadicam.
