I think within the next year or so, RED DRIVE and RED RAM are going to converge to a single product. :)
I'm wondering if I'll even buy more than one RED DRIVE to start off... If 16GB CF cards are available, I'll probably shoot to CF all the time and just keep the RED DRIVE to use in a pinch while I hold out for RED RAM (SSD based RED DRIVE) to grow in capacity and become more affordable.

Yeah, I am wondering how to move forward too. As long as you have enough to work on a particular job, it's like dollar cost averaging into technology improvements. Don't put it all into the technological bank at one time, but keep adding over time.
I was going to go all out, but now, for my two Reds, I'm thinking of going with one or two drives for long-form, and CF cards for narrative. Then buy more late 2008 as tech gets cheaper/bigger/faster.

CF cards all the way for me. I just don't trust spinning hard drives for acquisition. Storage and editing with redundant backup is fine on spinning hard drives, but not shooting.
Solid state all the way, baby!
