In the context of a Red shoot, what would be the responsibilities of a 1st AC and 2nd AC?
It seems the 1st would do the focus pulling and the 2nd could do the tape measuring, slate and logging.
Anything else? Or am I wrong?

Tape measure, slate, label cards, clean sensor, (help) change lenses, bolt stuff on or off the camera, haul it around, etc. etc.
At least that's what I've seen a second do with the camera...

Is there anything else the 1st does besides pull focus?

He/she runs the camera department in terms of hiring additional assistants, ordering equipment, checking out equipment, etc., etc. A 1st AC is one of the most responsibility filled jobs on any set.

Hi Shawn,
I seldom get a 2nd AC so the 1st does both jobs. We work slower, so no money is actually saved but makes the producer think they are very clever.:)

where the loader ?
perhaps loader ( or 2nd ) will keep track of the CF cards ( just like they do film stock)? ... loader might be able to dupe copy's if needed ??
i just don't see the RED being that complicated .. i think of it more along the lines as a film camera - not alot of menu's .... once the camera dept works with it for a few days and if they are shooting RAW i just don't see DITs needed on every project ...
yes the sony F23 may need DIT's to get thru the menu's and monitor RGB but ... but once a DP knows the RED camera & raw like he knows each film stock ( all thru testing & experience ) IMO it will be business as usual in the camera dept ...

I am planning on offering to do both 2nd AC and DIT at the same time. I don't see either job as being that complicated, but doing both jobs at the same time could keep you pretty busy. But that is also all I can offer since I have no experience being a camera op. or focus puller, but I will know the camera inside and out.

Dude...this would be a bad move...if the focus puller needs you for a lens change, focus marks, aks change, steadi to hand held, etc. you had better not be pulling up a rgb menu of some type or doing paper work.. In my opinion you would get nothing short of a serious public verbal lashing.
I am of course speaking of feature and tv experience...if you are a commercial guy then....well...I'm sure you can get away with it.
Be a Master....not a jack.
Long live film!!! Viva the RED rental!!
