We're finishing the 2009 with a bang. There will be many, many cool things to see and touch at the December 12 meeting. How about a $1,500 worth of door prizes! See the list at the bottom.
Keslow Camera will show the brand new Element Technica RED stereoscopic rig in action. The guys from Element Technica will be at hand to offer support, answer questions and show their other RED products.
Shooting stereo picture without the ability to see the 3D is only one half of the equation. Creative Media Partners will ensure that we see the full depth of 3D on a couple of new JVC GD-463D10 stereoscopic monitors. They will also explain how to connect this display to RED ONE on set.
JMR will demo the new BlueStor RED Video Server tuned for Assimilate Scratch and RED Rocket™. They will also show their SAN optimized RAID systems and BlueStor server for encode/decode markets using Digital Rapids technology.
J-Lab Co. will demonstrate their RED monitoring options and other portable production equipment.
Creating Blu-ray discs is inexpensive and easy with Adobe Encore. Director Jacob Rosenberg of Bandito Bros. will guide you through the entire encoding and authoring process. Jacob is also quite capable of answering any RED/Adobe workflow questions!
We're introducing a new feature this month due to popular demand. Igor Ridanovic will host a limited time "RED Workflow Questions" session from 9:30 to 10:30. Seating is limited so arrive early.
Russ McDonald will take over at 10:30 to 11:30 with the Owners' Circle, the place for in-person RED chat. Online forums are fine but Russ is a big proponent of Web 3.0 (turn off the computer, go out and connect live).
Our members Jenn Gotzon and Chris Armstrong from Elysian Pictures will screen their three new Dorito's Crash the Super Bowl spots at Members' Showcase. Watch their spots at the user group and offer the support by voting for them online.
Thanks to the generosity of the participating companies we have already given away more RED related door prizes than last year but there is no stopping now. Just in time for the holidays we have these gifts for you:
1. The latest version of the very RED capable Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.
2. One seat at day-long RED One Boot Camp, the original hands-on concentrated dose of RED knowledge.
3. Certificate good for 3 hours of file lay-off to HD courtesy of Kappa Studios. Included are FCP or AVID system with operator and an HD deck.
In order to speed up the line at the door you may want to fill out and bring with you a printed copy of the Adobe prize form (http://www.kappastudios.com/client/AdobeCS4LeadCard--REDDec12.pdf). This form will also be used for the drawing of the second and third door prizes. One form per person only.
There is plenty of street parking and you are welcome to use the parking just north east of the building in addition to our rooftop parking. The meeting is held at Kappa Studios at 3619 West Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank.
