Imac as Red 1 Monitor

Has anyone been able to figure out how to use the new Imacs with the display port as a Monitor for external Red footage? I want to get one and use it as a data management tool on set as well as a client monitor from the RED. They say you can use it as a monitor, but so far I have not found anyone that has had any luck using it for anything but external computer signals.

I thinks it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to get it to work as there's already a lot of restrictions in terms of connecting it to another computer. Not all graphics cards will work with the iMac as far as I know. Too bad, really. The best option would probably be to get something like the Aja ioExpress and get an HD-SDI feed from the camera into the computer.

The new iMacs can pretty much only input from another mini-displayport source for the time being. It would be worth calling up Apple to verify what type of connections it can and cannot accept.
