I know you guys at RED are working like crazy on all the Scarlet/Epic stuff, but any idea when build 21 is gonna be re-released?

Yes it will probably be re-posted as an updated Beta today. And if there are no issues with that, formal release early next week.

I've been using the existing Beta (never went to the build that was pulled) and it has been working well.
I have noticed a bit of a difference in image quality with this build though.

21.3.1 seemed fine to us still testing it and using it.

Yes. It has been working well. I have notices some banding in some shots, but this was at RC 28. The picture seems a bit sharper than usual as well.

If we've been using the pulled release of build 21.3.2 with no problems, is there any new change that would prompt anyone to install the new beta?

I'm still on 21.0.0, shot several shorts with it, wonder if I should upgrade to this new beta? Is there any chance of it bricking my Red?

I would recommend it over 21.0.0, personally.

What about reports of "release" 21 bricking Reds? Was that problem located and fixed in this latest beta? I'm not in the mood to mail my body back :-)

Hello everyone,
I have a shoot on Saturday wherein the director wants to use build 21. Now I know the beta version should only be used for tests and so on but is it really a huge risk to shoot a commercial project with it? I've got build 20 in my Mac Book just in case...
Also would be wrong to ask for someone who has the previously released build 21 to be sent to me via email? I'm just looking at my options and for anyone's advise.
Thanks in advance
Mark

Yes, that's the main fix Shawn.
What we'd like to confirm is that boot up is reliable for everyone, and also the behavior with RED-DRIVE and RED-RAMs.
Both of these should be fine based on our internal testing... but validating these on multiple in-field units is why we do Beta...

Mark- If it were me I would go ahead and install the latest beta 21 and give it a quick test. I realize a quick test is no guarantee but its a heck of a good sign. I absolutely would have the last release build of 20 ready to install quickly on the day. The director's love for 21 might fade quickly if its hanging up his entire production.
