Good day everybody. Finally i am getting new Mac Pro .
Still can not understand which card is better for my Apple Color WorkFlow .
Looks like cards that comes with Power Mac are not best solution for me .

* 1xNVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB
* 2x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB
* 3x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB
* 4x NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB
* ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB

May be better to get Mac Pro with minimum card from apple store , and then buy other card , that will be better for Color Real Time .
Or may be some of this cards works good with Color .
Also i know that Quadro FX 5600 SDI is best solution , but i budget is low for it .

Please help me with it :) .
Thanks.

The choice is between 1 or more GT 120 512 cards (each taking up a slot) or one ATI Radeon HD 4870.

I think the ATI 4870 is the best card for Color

and

Get an AJA or Decklink board for HDSDI/HDMI output.

Also get dedicated drives for your media.

This card might be interesting too but it's not a BTO option.
You can get it from the Store though.

So far as I know Color can only address one GPU so theres no benefit to having more then one card installed from a rendering or processing point of view. This certainly used to be the case when the product was Final Touch, if its changed then some one please correct me.

Also make sure the card can render greater than 8 bit color and also it can process whatever your monitoring resolution is requried in real time which is usually HD in our case.

ATI 4870. Just keep in mind that Apple version doesn't have dual DVI slots, you might need Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.

There is also Nvidia 285 GTX route, which should be slightly faster then ATI 4870 and you wouldn't have to buy the $100 adapter, but Apple is still "driver challenged".
