Can you decided which one will be referenced by REDCINE- X?

If so where do you do that?

Thanks.

Hopefully both? I know with the ALE export currently in Redline and ROCKETCINE-X, both timecodes are exports and managed. There really should be no reason to have to choose between the since both are valid and recorded during capture. The edgecode can come in handy for slo-mo and double verification for exact conform.

With Clipfinder's ALE, it prioritises whichever you have set to display on the camera menu.
As far as I can tell, Redcine-X does the same thing with its AAF.....but I can't get the MXF renders to work so it's not much use :(

Seems strange that REDline based applications would still have to choose since REDrushes creates an ALE that contains both timecodes in it, as does ROCKETCINE-X.

REDCINE-X is not yet ready for primetime when it comes to DNxHD wokflows, all of that work is being developed and tested in ROCKETCINE-X and will be ported over to REDCINE-X in a future release. I wrote a whitepaper for ROCKETCINE-X based workflows for Avid and can be found on www.avid.com/red and you can see the metadata mapping from the different methods used.

The MXF wrapper and AAF in the toolkit used is being expanded to allow all of the metadata available from an R3D file, and those fields will be available over time.
