Is RED capable to store footage on tapes like Panavision Genesis.

Nope.

Yes it is. You just plug a HDCAM SR deck into the HD-SDI ports on the camera. Why you'd want to do that, and limit yourself to 10bit and 1080, rather than 12bit and 4k is another question entirely though.

Yes, I thought Felipe was talking about 4K.

To my knowlege Mel Gibson's Apocalypto wass shoot with Genesis storing footage on HDCAM tapes, in final they had about 400 tapes of recorded material. So this movie was delivered in 10bit and 1080?
Then Mel regreted that RED was not on the his time to make this movie.
Thanks for answers dough.

Graeme, do you know if we are getting 1080p 4:4:4 on dual HD-SDI ports?

Is Graeme teasing us with the possiblity of recording 4K to tape?

No, it can't be. This is the digital revolution. Leave tape in the 20th century.

Yes, it's 1080p on the Dual Link SDI ports at 4:4:4. Stuart would have the full details though.

No I'm not teasing, I'm joking about recording to tape and how ludicrous it is and what kind of gear you'd need to record 4k to tape, rather than a nice, compact, light, affordable RED Drive via the wonders of REDCODE RAW.
