Ok I think I know the answer but thought I'd ask.

I'm not trying to pick holes.. It's a technical question that I'm just intrested to know the answer to, and the only reason I stepped through the shot is that I thought the muzzle flashes looked so bleeding cool!:)

If you have the CTL trailer goto 00:01:44 and step through the shot.

The cut-off on the muzzle flashes.. is this just down to the rate of fire and the way the sensor is read ?

cheers

I noticed that too, but didn't bring it up for fear of starting another debate about shutter artefacts from a prototype camera!

Yeah, it's in the end of 1:44. It's kinda funny. Anyway they have stated that these kind of artifacts have been reduced a lot since then.

And that wasn't really Jim answering to that but to a gamma shift.

As I tried to explain above.. just wondering what caused that look of the flash.. not saying it's an issue.

It's the all famous rolling shutter of the CMOS chips.

From what I've heard, most (if not all?) of those muzzle flashes were added in post anyway, so I wouldn't look to carefully at those.

Nope. The muzzles were real. It was confirmed by Jim himself.

There're more examples, though I am not a bit worried. As I said it has been stated that this problem has already been sufficiently addressed in the newer cameras.

I'm not worried much too, but strange is that it's not straight horizontal cut. Isn't there optical/lens reason?
