Sky TV in the UK (largest subscription TV company in Europe) launches a 3d channel
in the Spring. They've already shot a lot of sport in 3d this year.
I've also heard some interesting stuff about the sales/marketing of 3dtv's based around this launch. Watch this space...

NASCAR in 3D
It's amazing... Can't wait for this... This concept that I have dreamed of for years
So soon we will have another useless TV.
but we will wear those cardboard eyeglasses still?

I've come to love 3D. It's actually a very fun format to play with.
Also ... from a business perspective - it's double everything. Double the cameras, double the dailies, and much more involved post component with a longer DI. More specialized services.
And it does seem to have a rather nice buzz at the moment ...

What post software are you using Mark? How widely is the Red used for 3D, anyone know?
Discovery was shopping their logo around for a 3-D treatment in Washington DC in a pretty big hurry, or so I hear.
It doesn't sound simple to me and I think Mark's comment that it takes double everything sounds about right, maybe even a little short. Anybody else doing it with Red's?

Lots of 3D/Stereoscopic being shot on RED. Check out Evergreen Films, Eli Jarra, etc and the Element Technica Team (hardware for RED 3D rigs).
We're using Cineform's Neo3D for post -> edit/delivery on Macs FCP
