Hi guys,

Have received an EDL from an Avid offline using red16 (full r3D filename), imported R3D media into Scratch (v4.2) all OK but Scratch is truncating the 16char name when the EDL is loaded. As a result it is struggling to match the correct R3D file to each event. Can anyone suggest a fix for this? I have read somewhere that you can import the EDL into FCP first and then reexport, but it doesn't appear to support the red16 syntax. A little stuck here...

Any help much appreciated on this!

Cheers,

Rich

First, you're on a very old build of Scratch - I strongly suggest upgrading as significant changes/improvements to conforming have been made since 4.2.

Once you've upgraded, try conforming using 'name' & 'timecode' (you'll need to be on a later version to be able to do this), that should do the trick.

The current version of Scratch is v5, and is available from the Assimilate support website. You'll need a new license to be generated. Alternatively, you can upgrade to 4.4, which has newer conforming interface as well, but does not require a new license if you're in a real hurry. But I advise v5 as it's quite a large leap forward.
