As tomorrow arrives, I can't feel but a bit jealous to those who will actually have the ability to lay their hands upon the Red and start to put it through its paces. Those, such as myself, will be anxiously awaiting any and all feedback from the **New** Red Users (such a cool term).

To Mr. Jannard and the Red team, congratulations on fulfilling your vision and generating such excitement. I can't recall when a item of hardware has instilled such enthusiasm as this. well.. maybe when Super 16 was created :).

I look forward to have the ability to join the ranks of Red Users, but until that time i will be looking for rental availability in upstate NY as i stash away the dollars for a Red of My Own (does my daughter really need to finish college? hmmm)

It may run on windows for a bit, but it will most certainly freeze up and crash at some point.

Red Envy only runs on Windows as Red Alert only runs on Mac. 8-)

I look forward to the 4k online business.

I am happy that FCP is supported in 2K.
I hope that we will see, soon see, a 4k RGB10bit version of FCP.

Because 2K RGB8bit, as FCP is right now, is probably not the way we will finish the images shot by a red one.

And using 2K YUV for a 4K RGB workflow, or even for a 4K XYZ workflow, might be not attractive to all.

Last time i checked, all filmrecorders and all DCI-specs were RGB or XYZ, at 10 bit, and both up to 4K.

Sorry - but i canīt see the reason to buy another mac / fcp seat here as of yet - as we want to work in 4k. Additionally in rgb.

If that would be possible on the osx os with FCP, i would buy another pc from apple tomorrow.

But it seems, as of now, 4K D.I. online is not available on OSX with FCP.
