Can I see exposure in the RED VF/LCD, or do I need to use a light meter just like when I shoot with film?
EDIT: I guess I just found an answer http://www.scarletuser.com/showthread.php?t=1401

I have another question then.

- Is it true that I don't need to think about white balance, since I can adjust it in post because of the RAW format?
- Can I see the effect of different shutter speeds in the RED VF/LCD?

I know our editor was a bit miffed because we shot much footage without white balancing. It took her longer to adjust and fix the color. I recommend a quick white balance, just to save some time for the editor.

You do need to think about white balance in terms of the CMOS sensor being natively daylight balanced, so lighting with tungsten can cause footage to be more noisy than optimum. Also, since your white balance affects the monitoring in any mode except RAW viewing, it may also make you adjust your lighting if you are using that monitoring for doing your lighting.

However, if you or your editor is prepared to go back to the RAW R3D files and do some processing of the white balance, you can mostly recover incorrect white balance.

Color science is based on WB... so it is always a good idea to do it in camera. It can always be reset in post, but why not make it easier and just do it 1st in camera?
