Light rental houses in Washington DC

Hi,
I,ll have documentary shooting i Washington DC, in March. Anybody knows where to rent small package of light.
Also, I am looking for the possibility to transfer S8mm film to video in Washington DC.

I am not sure if Color lab has an s8mm gate but I seem to remember they do, and they do a lot of weird old archival stuff so they may.

The Washington Source is the most comprehensive lighting and grip in town. If they don't have it, you'll probably need to truck it in from New York.

In addition to the Washington Source, you should have a look at R&R lighting.

The gear they have isn't as comprehensive as Washington Source, but I find them to be more friendly, especially on smaller packages. Prices on a package tend to average out.

Also Barbizon lighting maintains a rental inventory, but they are more focused on stage and live events from what I've seen. Never used them myself. Cheapest gels I've found in town though.

Serious is good. I've never used them as a DP, but I gripped on productions renting from there.

Those people are insane in all the right ways for G&E.

The downside is that they are not really "near" DC. They are just south of BWI Airport, which is quite a hike from DC with traffic. Its probably best to say they are near Baltimore.

So, depending on where you are they may or may not be an option.
