I was wondering if someone knew if the sensor that will be included with the Scarlet 2/3" interchangeable brain will have the same low-light capability of the Mysterium X sensor we've heard so much about.

Looking at those new screenshots shot by David Fincher that Jarred has posted really has me interested in this camera and its use in conjunction with natural lightening, but the price tag for an s35 model + glass is a bit high.

Do we know what the 2/3" sensor will be capable of yet?

Nobody knows anything... I bet they only have a rough idea at RED. I think their focus has been on s35 sensors for the M-X and EPIC programs.

Not that anyone at RED talks to me.

That said, I'd expect that they are aiming for very similar performance in the Scarlet 2/3" to what we are seeing presently from the M-X program.

That said, I think the M-X and other S35 sensors are aiming for a bit better performance than we've seen so far. (I said "aiming," not "planning to deliver" )

In case you missed it before, I have no inside information, just vaguely educated suspicions coupled with wild conjecture.

the ISO capabilities might be the same... but the small sensor size will have quite an impact on the amount of natural light you can gather.

I'm pretty sure it'll be better than my V1U!
