Hello,
Is anyone doing a BNCR mount for RED? It was brought up a number of times on the board. It would be extremely useful to have a BNCR mount for RED, as BNCR lenses are cheaper and sometimes very, very good.
Nobody? What about the RED company itself? The RED camera is supposed to bring a revolution to the masses, the regular shooters. Tapping into BNCR lenses will help enormously.
Thanks!

Checking some other threads, I saw that Chuck declined a couple of times.
Come on! I bet there are people planning to use BNCR lenses?!

I had mentioned this several monthes ago. I also have a great set of ultranon primes with Ziess glass. They are BNCR mounts as well and amazing lenses.
The issues is that BNCR are actually rare, as well as beinig larger then a pl mount so there is not away to fit an adapter within a pl mount such as in the red.

Don't sweat it. a BNCR mount will be easy to do, especially if you can find one from a donor camera or in a parts bin somewhere.
If you are in a big hurry, talk to Les Bosher... He could probably make you one.

Hi,
Be aware that ultranon BNCR is slightly customized, the 'hole' is to small. Do you have an Ultracam or Leonetti modified 2c?

Stephen,
I believe it is an Ultracam not Leonetti, the lenses are Ultranon lenses though.
At this point my DP Chachi and I have come to the conclusion that the lenses would have to be rehoused or an individual adapter made for each one. In either case it seems it would most likely be a better deal just to buy a set of good used lenses.
anyway let me know what you think I am very open to Ideas.

I completely support BNCR mounts for RED. I have BNCR lenses myself and can't wait to use them on my RED camera!
