Please could you let us know if the RED 300mm has T Stops?

I posted the same question toward the beginning of Tonaci's First Pictures thread, but it obviously got lost in all the excitement. I'm assuming the 300mm is marked in f-stops only, but I would definitely like some clarification.

I thought all RED lenses where going to be marked in T Stops.

We all argued the case months back about having the industry standard for cinema lenses.

Hi Rory,

I believe the Zooms are.

I just inspected the lens and the letter T is not on the section of the barrel with the stop marks. I believe the 300mms have been on the shelf over at RED for several months and it wasn't practical to change them after Jim jumped on the T-stop train. Future RED lenses should have them, its not something Jim takes lightly.

FWIW the lens is a beauty and after only one night with it all my original hesitation about spending $5K on a specialy lens is completely gone.

This post is from Blair on Tonaci's lapper.

Thanks for sharing Tonaci..

Big question now is can we swop out the lens when they start making them with T's and how long the wait is before T's are available.

That's not the 300 mm, that's the 18-50 mm zoom. This one has T stops.

Another lens question...(in the wrong forum :-) )
What about the distance scales, both ft and m or just the former?
