You are the Fire Chief, after all. Exactly why was there a 'RED' branding iron just laying around, again?

Yes we are doing full production - filming and workflow Red training - covering the media, the lens, the RED menus - codecs and of course workflow into post with Red Alert, RED Cine, Scratch and FCP.
This will start this in October. We started filming for it today !
We shot with Cooke lens, Angenieux and Red lenses on green and blue screen - plus tested primes vs Zooms - not the only testing we are doing but we are literally transferring the data now and about to start test compositing some shots in flame!

Jarred,
The cases and the branding idea was brilliant. you HAVE to make this an optional part of the delivery process. Letting the new owner brand their camera (if only the case) is a great way of truely connecting. The Red Brand, in the hand of the new owner, forever changes the case, claiming it Red, the owner claiming it as their own, and symbolizing the way Red will forever change cinema. This "ritual" ceremony will be forever cemented in the owners mind and cannot be equaled as a concept--I would even strive to make it more ritualistic and meaningful--even asking the new owner (those who want to participate) that as they place the brand to think about how they, in their own way, are going to change cinema history.
Please tell me when my number comes up, you'll have the brand handy if not cases on hand!!!

Yup thats exactly what i was thinking Thom. Bonding. yup. thats it.
ok, ok, ill come clean
honestly, at the time, i was just thinking " if they screw it up themselves, they cant blame me. "
heh heh heh.. but from now on, it will be for bonding. yes. not liability, just bonding :)

Great. Really Great. Again, a brilliant idea. A little danger (fire/liability) and the irreversable nature of the act only deepens the experience. Definately worth the risk.
Time to order a few more cases and get ready for the next batch. :)

OK, I see a few areas where this can go off the tracks quick...
a) Do not serve wine at the branding/bonding ceremony... ok wait... do not refer to it as a "branding/bonding ceremony"...
b) Never invite any relatives of the late Anton LeVay... and refer to a) again please...
c) If you follow the two above rules then nobody should EVER get "nekkid"... at the time of the "deal".
The branding is way cool and I am w/ you Thom though I love Jarred's practical sense... and what would it cost us to get RED laser cut foam inserts for our pelicans?:help:

How did you know I was going to insist being drunk and "Nekkid"?!!
I'm already doing war paint tests and gathering feathers and I'm still months away...
Love the idea of lazer cut inserts, and please don't limit the case branding to just flyers... You have to take care of the drunken, nekkid, painted and feathered locals, too. :)

" The camera may not have quite as much dynamic range as the new F23 from Sony - but then it costs a damn sight less (around 1/10th) and it shoots twice the resolution. " -Quote from FX guide
ERrmmm, i was thinking the RED One had a higher dynamic range? Someone with some experience with the F23 please clarify, thank you! :cold:

Yeah, I'd appreciate it if someone commented on this too. From what I've seen of the F23 the DR isn't that great (an improvement over previous Sony efforts though) so I'm a bit surprised at this.
