Just got back from shooting "We are the world" 25th anniversary in 3D.
What an amazing day. I don't think we could of packed more gear and cameras into that tiny room!
http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00030465.html
We had 9 3D rigs (2 steadicam), I was stereo rig tech/AC on one of the steadicam rigs. (Evergreen/Sweetwater productions). We had many Element Rigs present as well as a few Sean Phillips rigs. Sean Phillips was also the stereographer. There was one E.T/ RED One rig rolling. The rest where using Sony 1500's and the Steadicam used Ikegami HDL 40's with Ziess glass. Similar setup than the setup they used to film
After a 20 hour day, the crew donated all our overtime to Haiti. It was an totally unforgettable day to be sure. So many incredible memories and stories.
The 3D looked great, the stars where out in full force and I hope it will be as successful as the first one was 25 years ago!
I hope it's another of many more events shot in 3D .
Some pics to come....soon. Time to go crash into bed.

Awesome news PEDRO!.
We just did a similar (albeit much, much smaller ) RED shoot here called "Holding Hands for Haiti...
100% Shot on RED> starting in Portland and )Hopefully) will span the globe via the Mercy Corps.
Daniel Baldwin (among others) coming in tomorrow for a talking head...
Glad to see the RED community care about the worst human tragedy Ive known in my lifetime...

1. Congrats to the talented people who worked on this
2. Is that the same Evergreen Films who bilked the effects artists for Journey 3D? If they're into donating to a good cause, they could also just pay the artists who are still owed money?

Thanks! We had a huge crew and everybody deserves plenty of kudos.
I was talking to Sean Phillips and he mentioned there was a 3D crew down there with some of his rigs. Not sure it's your guys, but I'm sure it will be some some incredible images for sure.
Nice work Tim! Hope to watch that soon.

LOL.. I'm in this group shot. Right in front of Vince Vaughn. It really was a great day and for a great cause. Does anyone know what happened to the 3d version? Would love to see it.
Nice one Taj. Your uncle would be very proud.

Hi there! I loved the video. I would have used unseen Michael Jackson footage though, not the original 1985 video version, it would have had a better effect.
Anyway, how do I do to watch it in 3D, I need some special glasses or what? I have no clue about this!
Thanks.

Pedro!
it was a pleasure working with you!
It was one to remember!
Nothing like a last minute add of a red 3d rig less than 12 hrs before the load in to send me for a tizzy! Thanks for letting me pick your brain with your red 3d experience!!
