We decided to play around a little and do a very quick test shot of an old RED ('old' RED just sounds funny to me) and a new RED MX. we posted a little video for free on the homepage of:
www.DigitalCinemaLessons.com
This free video has been compressed all to hell into flash, so don't go judging the new sensor on how crappy the flash compression is. Just take a peek and you will be able to see the DIFFERENCE between the two when raising the levels. In particular, the shot that was drastically underexposed at T22 highlights the massive potential of the new MX sensors.
Now all we need is the SDK in the hands of Quantel, Assimilate, DVS, DaVinci, etc. etc. so the currently established post chains all come back online.
