I'm working on a feature shot on REDCODE 42 4.5K @ 25fps

My job is to transcode this footage for the editor to AVID AAF & MXF files at 1920 x 1080p.

Our setup works nicely, except for the fact that ROCKETCINE-X crashes a LOT. And randomly. I see other people have had crashing problems with mxf exports and none of their solutions seem to work for me. There are NO spaces in our file paths.

I have tried both ROCKETCINEX 1720 & 1735 with the same results.

We're using a brand new Mac Pro 2x 2.26 Quad Core Xeon with 12GB of RAM. Mac OS X 10.6.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this issues is chewing up a lot of our time.

Email me so we can figure out what's causing the crashes. I talk to a large number of rocketcine users that have been using it in a constant workflow weeks straight with no problems so we want to know what's causing your crashes.

Email me at deanan at red so we can go through some details.

The latest version doesn't crash with MXF transcoding for me. The previous one did.

They both do for me. It seems completely random. Sometimes it gets through only one or two clips, sometimes 30 before crashing.

I'm quite baffled.

Deanan, I emailed you but haven't received a response yet. Sorry to bug you... It's just it's really becoming a problem.

I have saved some crash logs.

Hi Guys, having the same problems here, except it's not random. It happens every time the mxf transcode gets to 99%, and it happens every time. have tried everything I can think to do. I've resorted to having to make DNXhd 36 Quicktime files from red rocket, and then use avid to import them. Double the render is not double the fun as it would turn out. Deanon, what should i do?

Email me. I have a test build that I'd like to have you try and see if it fixes it for you..
